What is BondMenu? These patches restore the four different Bond images that appeared on the folders on the file select screen and individual files. These were removed before the final release of the game but oddly enough appeared in the manual ;(
Once applied, each of the four files will have a different actor's portrait. When the file is selected, the correct portrait should appear on the solo/multi/cheat select screen.

There are three different patches, one for each version of the game.
NTSC - North America BondMenu-NTSC-E.ips
NTSC - Japan BondMenu-NTSC-J.ips
PAL - Europe (english) BondMenu-NTSC-P.ips

The recommended way to apply the patches would be to use the Goldeneye Setup Editor's patching utility.

Otherwise, each of these patches expects a non-byteswapped ROM image, like one extracted via Gameshark. Also, you will need to recalculate the header checksum. There are plenty of N64 checksum calculators about, such as the ones at Dextrose. The editor automatically recalculates the checksum after applying patches.

Due to certain annoying compression problems, I can't guarantee that the patch will work on a backup device, such as a V64. GE uses an older version of the library and unexpectantly will abort decompression.

------
A Gameshark-compatible version is in the works at the moment. The trick at the moment is changing the image values within the compressed binary. The current routine only is capable of changing the ones n the two uncompressed binaries.

Also, this is a *use at your own risk* sort of affair. It's your own stupid fault if you get sued for using this or your computer melts into goo.
